Holidaying in Coffs Harbour is never dull or boring with the area overflowing with a wide variety of attractions, activities and events.

Most visitors will instantly recognise the Big Banana as being the City's most notable attraction but venture off the highway and it becomes apparant that the area has so much more to offer.


Natural Amenities
Coffs is renowned for its beautiful white beaches and grassy headlands that make a great spot for a romantic or family picnic. Water temperature allows for swimming all year round and surfers take full advantage of some of the area's better breaks.

Take a short trip from the coast and visit some of our most precious world heritage rainforests. A leisurely drive south through the historic township of Bellingen and up to the Dorrigo plateau leads you to an ancient rainforest. Venture out onto the skywalk and look down on the awe inspiring panoramic views over the rainforest canopy. Breathe the freshest of air and listen to the sounds of the many creatures that make the rainforest their home.

Don't pass up the chance to take the drive up to Sealy lookout to see Coffs Harbour from a birdseye point of view.

For those looking for some excitement whilst on holiday Coffs offers a wealth of things to do. Take an adventure white water rafting trip. Hook the big one on a game fishing charter boat or take a cruise with a whale watching tour (season permitting). The Big Banana complex just gets better and better each year and now offers Banana Plantation Tours, Ice Skating, Indoor Snow Skiing, Luge Ride and more.

Be sure not to miss the excitement of the Pet Porpoise Pool, get up close and personal with dolphins, sealions, seals penguins and a host of other sealife at the daily shows. The kids (and adults alike) will love the chance to pat a dolphin.

Visit the Coffs Harbour Zoo, check out traditional dutch life at the Clog Barn, take a drive to the Butterfly House or the Honey Place. Sample some carob at Carobana, the working Carob factory. Take in a movie at our modern multi cinema complex or try the historic Sawtell Cinema for a unique cinema experience. Coffs also has its own live performance theatre with regular shows.

During summer the jetty area comes alive with colour and delighted screams as the fair arrives in town. Take the kids and dont forget to relive your own childhood by taking a ride or two yourself.

Walk down our restored jetty or wander around the marina and fishing port dreaming of a life at sea. Muttonbird island, reachable via the marina breakwall, makes an interesting walk and at certain times of the year the island is home to thousands of muttonbirds.

For those on a budget you cant go past Jang's Thai Restaurant at the Coffs Hotel, delicious and easy on the wallet.
